【Hello! Project 20 years series】Morning Musume。'19 Morito Chisaki "For this spring tour, I would like us all to be together from the start!"
To commemorate Hello! Project's 20 years, we are organizing the "Hello! LOVE" project. Here's an interview with 13th and 14th generation who talk about their new best album coming out in March and their next spring tour.
— Please, talk about your new album "Best! Morning Musume。20th Anniversary".
Kaga Kaede : New song titled "I surrender Aisaredo Ai" is so cool ! I love that electric guitar too much in this song. It's however frustrating the song lasts only 2m57, I have barely finished it that I would like to listen to it directly.
Yokoyama Reina : "I surrender Aisaredo Ai" is amazing. It's a short song but lyrics are so powerful. These are very fair lyrics that's why I recommend to listen this song when you're frustrated or sad, because it will give you all hope.
Morito Chisaki : Song rhythm is too cool. During the performances, I want to convey this freshness to the audience who listen to us. I think this song will please a lot during concerts.
— What about the outfits ?
Yokoyama : This choreography is very energetic, floating costumes are great to this kind of dance.
Morito : Also, my bangs isn't as usual.
Yokoyama : It looks more like a rock haircut.
Kaga : What I like about my outfit it's my cool scorpion ring.
Yokoyama : Sato-san's ring is also too cool !
Morito : Yes that spider one.
Yokoyama : But the scorpion one is also too great.
Kaga : I find it almost cute (laughs). It was asked I wear it so I did it, but finally I would love to have one only mine (laughs).
— Talk us about the other new song, "Koishite Mitakute".
Morito : This is a cute song. It can be listen by literally everyone : men, women, at any age ! That's kind of lyrics which makes me really happy when I was younger, that's why I think today's childrens will love it very much. It talks about love but in a globaly way, a love which can match to everyone.
Kaga : Until now, Morning Musume。had always approached romance in their song in a complicated and mature way. This song is more lightly, I think it's easier to listen to.
Yokoyama : It's a kind of song I waited for so long ! Some fans told me it totally suited me and they were happy to se a cute interpretation like mine, especially for this kind of cute song. To be honest, this song reflects feelings I really like. The choreography is nice and still too cute, it's great (laughs) ! It's been a long time since we've had this kind of songs. It's good to vary styles, I'm happy to have one like this.
— A word about the whole album ?
Kaga : This album retraces entire Morning Musume。history and shows permanent evolution of all members it has had. Singing and dancing skills have also improved a lot since group beginning, as you can see. We're lucky to be able to perform cool and old songs from the period called "Platinum Era" thanks to our cool senpai. We can realize where the Morning Musume。come from where they are today.
Yokoyama : Each discs contain songs from very specifics generations, it's great. The whole group history resides in this album. There will be necessarily one of your favorite songs !
Morito : For the first Morning Musume。best album in which I participate, I'm happy it went like this. It's very friendly, fun, cute. It traces group history between the "Golden Era" and the "Platinum Era", I find it amazing. I really admire these periods and our fans too, that's why this best album will please them. For new fans, this is also an opportunity to discover where Morning Musume。come from. This best album can please everyone.
— Songs that made you love or wanted to join Morning Musume。?
Kaga : "One · Two · Three". When it was released, I wanted so bad to dance with them, I started to love Morning Musume。thanks to this song.
Yokoyama : The prank made on Morning Musume。'14 members in a television program at the time made me want to join Morning Musume。. They were asleep and woke up by many fans. They rose directly from their bed and performed "What is LOVE?" in a really good way. This is where I told myself I wanted to join them and have fun as much as they did.
Morito : By watching "Wagamama Ki no Mama Ai no Joke" MV, I was impressed by the talent of each members. The choreography was also too cool. I found Sayashi Riho-san dazzling and I started to be a fan.
— This best album celebrates Morning Musume。20th anniversary. A best album had been produced for group's 10th anniversary. Do you have an idea of your goals for the next 10 years, before celebrating 30 years ?
Yokoyama : Obviously it's important to celebrate group's 20th anniversary, but what's also important is to not stop there. We must continue to look into the future, do everything to evolve, offer new genres of songs, to continue to make history.
Kaga : I would like strongly a change about group's performances, concerts and tours. Evolutions have already been made, such as scene formations, sets, dances, outfits, cameras. I would like to propose and organize even more new things related to this !
Morito : So far, Morning Musume。have been constantly evolving. I think it's important to keep qualities of each members. You have to know how to use them during concerts so fans can say "This concert is one of the best!".
— Let's talk about the next spring tour, which starts when the album is released.
Kaga : For now, Morning Musume。give great concerts, this is what emerges. For this tour, there are fluorescent outfits and for a specific part of the concert, it makes performances too cool. Title is "~BEST WISHES!~", we did everything to make the whole thing happy and dazzling. I hope it will please fans !
Yokoyama : For the previous tour, we had a particular theme, like Morning Musume。vessel had broken, so we needed fans to help us land well on stage. They had appreciated, there were also quizzes organized during the MCs. Anyway, there was a real theme. I think for this tour it's better if we create different content.
Morito : During the previous tour, the first day was chaos. Staff wasn't at all ready as we had expected, which shifted everything. A saying was created at that time because in reality, this situation made us laugh. For this tour, I would like it to go better at this level, I would like us to be all together from the start !
