Announced on January 12, 2017 on a press conference, Morning Musume。'17 collaborated with the famous soup company "marukome". The main project of the collaboration is the song "Morning Misoshiru" available on Morning Musume。'17 63rd single. The collaboration slogan was "Morning Misoshiru nomou yo!" (モーニングみそ汁飲もうよ) from the song's lyrics, which means "Let's drink a morning soup!". The collaboration lasted the whole year.
The song entitled "Morning Misoshiru" is a new version of "Morning Coffee" of the group's first major single, released 20 years later (*2017 was the year of the group 20th anniversary). Soups were marketed and customized with members as well as their official colors : there's a total of 9 products, even if only 4 were well accepted by the general public due to the boxes graphics with members. Each of the 9 products contained a different QR-Code which led to a Youtube link - a bonus video which lasted approximately two minutes. Those bonus videos are showing making of, plus the "Morning Misoshiru" dance shot which wasn't in the single versions as usual.
A five minutes morning radio program entitled "marukome Morning Misoshiru nomou yo!" was broadcast from July to December, made to be listened to during the soup breakfast. The members cahnged their MC place every month until the end of the broadcast, when the collaboration and campaign was finalized this project.
